Privacy Policy

Who we are

Our website address is: https://voidtreemc.com.

This site exists to give you information about VoidTree, our public Minecraft server. We do not currently allow user account creation or comments here, so we don’t collect any login or password information.

The only personal data that we collect is email/Discord and Minecraft account username for applications to join our server.

Visitor information

Statistics

Our site statistics plugin partially anonymizes IP addresses. Yours will show up looking like this: “1.2.3.0” with the last dotted quad zeroed out. We can see what country and area you are in, what browser you are using, and what pages you looked at, but not your precise address.

Login attempts and security

The IP address of visitors, user ID of logged in users, and username of login attempts are conditionally logged to check for malicious activity and to protect the site from specific kinds of attacks. Examples of conditions when logging occurs include login attempts, log out requests, requests for suspicious URLs, changes to site content, and password updates. This information is retained for 60 days.

As there are no user accounts on this web site, the only time this information comes into play is to track administrator activity and people trying to get into some place they aren’t supposed to be; i.e. probably not you.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

If you’re not an administrator, you won’t be uploading images.

Cookies

Since you won’t have a login for this site, you won’t get a cookie. If you are sad that you do not get cookies, Duck will give you a virtual cookie any time you ask.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

Nobody, ever.

How long we retain your data

Statistics are kept for 365 days and then purged.

Security information is kept for 30 days and then purged.

Information you include in your application will be retained indefinitely.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

That said, we don’t use accounts on the web site or allow comments, so there’s no personal data for you to request.

Where we send your data

Account creation information is sent to us by email. While we will take all reasonable measures to avoid giving up your Minecraft username and contact information, email is not terribly secure, and we make no warranties about it.
